Making a Difference

The FPAA is unwavering in its dedication to and support of the Mexican produce industry. We are a powerful and effective organization of support and change at every level.  The FPAA is involved in government relations at all levels of government from local to state and federal both in the United States and Mexico.

With the help of our members, we will continue to initiate influential change ensuring labor practices that treat workers decently and fairly, eradicating any shortfalls in labor conditions, while preserving the stability and the prosperity of our members.

To retain a skilled workforce, growers in Mexico provide competitive wages and benefits, including access to health care, dentists, education programs, and family housing.  That's as good for a farmer's bottom line as it is for farm workers.

Our main focuses are:
AGRICULTURE INSPECTION ISSUES

AGRICULTURE INSPECTION ISSUES

Over the years efforts by the FPAA have greatly increased the speed of agriculture inspections for all imported fresh produce. We have been instrumental in:

  • Successful lobbying for improvements to expand ports of entry
  • Streamlining the inspection process for low-risk commodities and increased the resources available for commodities that require more extensive review
  • Promoting inspection systems that protect the cold-chain and help preserve the freshness of our produce
  • Coordinating with allied organizations to eradicate unfair trade practices
  • Educating officials on importation issues for Mexican produce.

FPAA REPRESENTS THE MEXICAN INDUSTRY WITH RELATED TRADE ASSOCIATIONS
